A Square of Colour, Worn Every Day

Linnetgrove began with a drawer of scarves that were too good to wear and a feeling that a beautiful print should earn its keep.

Most of us know a scarf like that: a silk square from a trip, or one handed down, folded in tissue and saved for a day that never quite comes. We wanted the opposite. A scarf with the grand, generous design of a classic square, made in a smooth satin you can wear to the grocery store, pack for a weekend and wash in a basin without a second thought.

A good scarf is a small painting you get to wear.

01Why the linnet

The linnet is a small, modest songbird of hedgerows and old gardens, plain brown in winter and flushed rose in spring. It seemed the right mascot for what we make: something quiet that brightens up in the right season. A grove is where it sings.

02Three collections

• Walled Garden: peonies, tulips, sweet peas and hydrangeas, painted as lavishly as a garden in June.
• Bridle & Crest: bridle bits, buckles, rope and cameo horses in the heritage foulard manner, drawn from scratch by us.
• Riviera: lemons, regattas, shells and harbour villages, all sun and salt air.

Every design is original to Linnetgrove, with a printed border that frames it like a picture and colour carried right to the hem.

03What you are buying

One square satin scarf, about 35 x 35 inches, 100% polyester with a silk-like feel and soft drape, finished with a narrow hem. We say polyester plainly because we would rather you know exactly what arrives. At $54.99 each, it is a treat that doesn't need a special occasion.
